Colombia / Transformation Blend
This washed coffee is one of our favorites! It features a complex, sweet, and floral profile with a creamy body and lingering caramel aftertaste. We roast this coffee on the light side of medium, which brings out just enough sweetness and depth to accentuate those delicate floral top notes.
This lot from our friends at Unblended is composed of coffees from many of the women producers they work with in Colombia. Their mentorship program supports the development of women producers by offering them a platform to enhance their farms, knowledge, and skills in specialty coffee. This blend consists primarily of chiroso, a naturally occurring gesha-like variety discovered and cultivated by one of the local women farmers. With the more familiar castillo variety providing a stable base, the chiroso lends this blend its lovely floral quality.

Future Farmers
These coffees are sourced from farmers who represent the next generation, including established women producers as well as young people just getting started in coffee.
Female property ownership is still a rarity in many countries. Supporting these farms helps to improve income equality and self-determination for women in their community and provides reassurance that quality is valued regardless of who produces it.
Many young people in growing regions have seen older generations toil long hours for little pay, leading many to abandon coffee cultivation altogether. But the rise in specialty coffee, with its focus on high quality, new flavors and processes, creates possibilities for the next generation to do things differently and add significant value for themselves and their communities.

Air Roasted to Perfection
We use 100% electric, clean air roasting for our coffees.
Air roasting works by suspending the beans in a column of hot air, allowing them to roast more evenly and consistently without picking up unwanted flavors or defects that can happen with drum roasters. Our roasters are designed to produce safe, low-temperature, clean exhaust without filters, catalyzers or afterburners.
Altogether, this means that we can roast clean-tasting coffees more consistently using less energy and with lower emissions than conventional methods.

Circular Packaging
Our coffee cans are manufactured in the USA from 100% domestically sourced steel.
Why steel? Unlike plastic and paper, it's infinitely recyclable and is recovered at a higher rate (72%) than any other food packaging material. It's also the ideal barrier for keeping oxygen, moisture and light away from the beans inside. This, plus an integrated valve, means our coffee stays fresher longer.
Steel cans can also be reused. Bring back your empty Wavelength Coffee Roasters can and we will refill it with your favorite coffee for a discount.
